Post Weld Induction Heating

Welding of steel strip can result in weld joints that are harder and more brittle than the parent material; potentially leading to a strip break later in the processing line. A post weld heat treat annealer reduces the hardness of the weld joint back to original material properties. Additionally, post weld heating can result in a greater reduction in weld joint over-thickness. This reduces the requirement for adjustments in machine settings later in the processing line that traditionally are necessary to accommodate over-thickness of the weld joint. Post Weld heat treating ultimately saves our customers costly downtime and increases the range of materials that can be processed.
