A guide to print head maintenance

Firstly, the temperature of our working environment is quite important to print heads. If the temperature is too low, print heads might spray inks different  from the direction that we expect. If you find out that inks are not in the right position, to avoid such a situation,  we suggest you to heat the nozzles of the print heads by hair dryers or other space heaters. In addition, before the printer starts , it is recommended to turn on air conditioners or space heaters so that the temperature of the working environment can attain a degree from 15 to 30 degrees. Such an environment is most suitable for the operation of digital printers, and work efficiency as well as quality improves.

Secondly, static electricity often happens in winter, especially when air conditioner is on so that air is dry. Strong static electricity will increase the load of digital printer and in turns the lifespan of print heads shorten. Therefore, it would be better for us to turn on a humidifier to keep the humidity of air between 35 to 65%, while the air conditioner is working. Besides, the humidifier needs to be placed in somewhere away from the printed circuit board in case condensation occurs and brings about a short circuit.

Thirdly, dust can damage the print heads badly as it will clog their nozzles. Then patterns are not complete. Therefore we suggest you to clean the print heads regularly.

Fourthly, low temperature changes inks’ viscidity, especially those of poor quality. Inks turn more sticky in winter. In turns, print heads are easily to be clogged or spray inks in a wrong way. Then the lifespan of print heads shortens. To avoid this, we recommend you to put quality and stability in the first place when you choose inks. Moreover, the storage condition of inks matters. Inks are inclined to go bad when the temperature is below 0 degree. We’d better keep them at a temperature from 15 to 30 degrees.
